Can you faint by salt water?

Ok for a past week I've had a canker sore underneath my tongue, ive been drinking a lot of water, and at least 3 times a day I gargle salt water. Well today I put salt directly on the sore, and it hurt but the pain quickly went away but I started bleeding...After the bleeding stopped I put some salt in water and gargled it until I started to feel hot. I spit out the salt water, and layed on the floor because I felt like I was going to pass out and my whole body got warm, and tired and heavy. I did not tilt my head back or anything like that, so I doubt I passed out because my head position. After a few seconds, I came to and I looked alittle off color. My stomach all of a sudden got very upset but besides that I was fine...Does anyone have any ideas why this mightve happend?
